REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:

Our school is designed for men whom God called to be pastors serving in pastoral ministry.  “The EXTERNAL CALL is a commission received from and recognized by the Church…not indeed qualifying the Minister, but accrediting him, whom God had internally and suitably qualified. This call communicates therefore only official authority. The INTERNAL CALL is the voice and power of the Holy Ghost, directing the will and judgment, and conveying personal qualifications. Both calls, however – though essentially distinct in their character and source – are indispensable for the exercise of our commission.” ~Charles Bridges (1794-1869), THE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

Q: WHAT IS THE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND THE PASTORS SCHOOL?

A: We highly recommend applicants to attend and graduate from Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) before attending our school, but it is not mandatory.

Q: CAN I ATTEND THE PASTORS SCHOOL IF I AM NOT A MEMBER OF A CALVARY CHAPEL?

A: If you are not an active, serving member of a Calvary Chapel, you must first complete the Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) program before applying to our Pastors School. For more information on CCBC, please visit www.calvarychapelbiblecollege.com or www.ccbccostamesa.com.

Q: CAN WOMEN APPLY FOR, AND ATTEND THE PASTORS SCHOOL?

A: Aware of the debate that exists on the issue of women being ordained pastors, our desire is to do our best to understand God’s Biblical teaching on this matter through a prayerful and careful study of His written word – the Bible. We personally believe that Scripture shows us that the calling and commission to be pastors apply to men. This has nothing to do with a man’s worth or abilities before God and God’s people compared to a woman, or visa versa. It simply has to do with God’s design and plan for His church. For this reason, the Pastors School is designed specifically for men who are called to the pastoral ministry. We do, however, provide ministry training for both men and women at Calvary Chapel Bible College, Costa Mesa.

Q: IS STUDENT HOUSING AVAILABLE?

A: No, all students are responsible for their own housing.

Q: IS THERE A SPECIFIC FOCUS OF MINISTRY THAT THE PROGRAM IS GEARED TO, SUCH AS SENIOR PASTOR, ASSOCIATE PASTOR, YOUTH MINISTRY, WORSHIP PASTOR?

A: All areas of pastoral roles and ministries will be discussed with an emphasis on training the next generation of church-planters.

Q: UPON COMPLETION, IS THERE AN ORDINATION OR A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION?

A: Graduates earn a Certificate of Completion. We do not issue Certificates of Ordination.

Q: UPON COMPLETION, WOULD THERE BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON STAFF AT A CALVARY CHAPEL?

A: This is the decision of the church leadership of the Calvary Chapel you attend and serve in.
